Help

How the queuing system works, step by step.

The patient's journey

  1. The patient taps Get queue number on the kiosk and takes the printed ticket (or the front desk gives a number).
  2. The number appears on the TV under Next. The front desk / nurse calls it: the TV chimes, shows it big and says “Number 014, please proceed to Counter 1”.
  3. The front desk sends the patient to a room or department (Consultation, Laboratory, X-Ray, Cashier…). The patient keeps the same number.
  4. That room calls the number on the TV, then sends the patient on again, or marks them Complete.

At the counter

  • Call next (or press N): calls the next patient in your line; priority lane first.
  • Call again (R): announces the same number again.
  • Patient is here: the patient arrived; the timer of the visit keeps running.
  • Send to…: choose the room or department (and, if you like, one particular room). This is also how you transfer a patient to another counter.
  • Skip: the patient did not come. They stay in Skipped: call them again when they come back, or put them back in line.
  • No-show: the patient is gone; the number leaves the queue.
  • Complete: the visit is finished.

Roles

  • System Administrator: Everything, including backups and system updates.
  • Administrator: Runs the queue: rooms and departments, users, settings, screens, reports.
  • Supervisor: Watches all queues, uses any counter, sees the reports and the display and kiosk links.
  • Front Desk / Nurse: Calls new numbers first, issues tickets and sends each patient to the right room or department.
  • Room Staff: Calls the patients sent to their room or department, sends them on, marks them done.

TV displays and kiosks

  • Display & kiosk apps gives the link of each screen. Open it on the TV or tablet and install it as an app: from then on, one tap on its icon opens it full screen.
  • On a Windows computer, the one-click shortcut opens the screen full screen with sound, without any tap.
  • Several TVs on one computer: TV screens setup detects them and opens the right screen on each.
  • The display needs one tap after opening to play sound (a browser rule). The shortcut files don't.

Updates

The System Administrator sends changes from the local site to the online site (or the other way round) in System Updates. A full backup is always made first, and an update can be rolled back.
